Looking into booking a cruise to take my parents to Mount Vernon. This is my father’s first time there so looking to make it the best experience possible. Any recommendations on which deck is the most comfortable/pretty and are there restrooms located on each level? Also, which level is the breakfast buffet located on. We were a bit confused about this as well. We were a big family group so took two Ubers to get there. Both Uber drivers found it difficult to locate. Even though you buy the tickets online, you still need to check in at the ticket booth building to get the paper tickets. And the ticket booth opens, as I recall, about a half hour before the cruise begins. You check in and receive your paper tickets at the ticket booth building which is at 580 Water St. SW. We took the first cruise and it was chilly early in the morning. You have to wait outside and there is no place to sit comfortably to wait, so be prepared for that. The pier is adjacent to the ticket booth building. Once you have checked in and have your tickets the line to board the boat is right there. A more specific map on the website would be very helpful as the location is tucked in to the pier area right on the water. I also recall there was construction going on when we were there in mid-April and this caused some confusion on the part of the Uber drivers as well. In spite of this, we loved the cruise to Mount Vernon and the tour of Mount Vernon. The kids in our group, ranging from 4 to 13, thoroughly enjoyed the boat ride. There was an area on the upper deck where they could play games and met other kids who were on the boat.
What’s the seating like inside the ship? Planning to go on it during winter but need to ensure there’s places to sit. Sitting outside won’t really be an option in December.
