Bella Coola is a great place to visit. Beautiful scenery, local tours are a must. The flight is amazing with all it's spectacular glaciers. We only stayed 4 days. Wish we could have had more time … Full review by Joan H
We live in California and are interested in seeing grizzly bears. There are lodges that have package tours, but it sounds as if you did this on your own. Where did you stay? Is it possible to view the grizzly bears without a package tour? Thanks!

Hi Music, I did a review for suntree cottages in Hagensborg. It is about 30 minutes from the bear viewing platform in the park for free..We went in mid September and that is when the bears are there for the salmon.We went early morning and we usually saw at least 1 bear each time. We saw numerous bears and we saw 1 along the road at the top of the "hill" Saw black bear and deer as well. Great hiking and outstanding scenery. You don't need to pay for the tours to see the bears, but be patient and go when the salmon are running. Great tour at the hatchery for free. Also found the petrographs up in the mountains for free.
