Small park with a few paths (some paved, some stone). Easy walking with nice views of downtown. Would be a good place to walk a dog. Full review by Icarus4335

Hi, I am from out of town - I'm arranging a small group of friends for a photowalk of Gas Works Park. Anyone can suggest to me a foolproof meeting place? Like is there a front gate or something? We are supposed to meet at 9 am. Leeb

Hi there! The park has no gates counting with a big parking lot with no gates neither. The park and its parking lot its oriented East to West coming from downtown Seattle, with two entrance. The park's main entrance is located close to the main entrance to the parking lot, and the other entrance to the park at the end of the parking lot on the further West side. So parking isn't an issue and neither enter the instalations, but the open solitude the place provides, with plenty of areas with cover worth thinking twice before going there when there is no many people around. (There are open buildings also offering perfect shelter to who might need it and there are plenty in need in the cold season). Be aware, there is no public light in the park as another deterrent. A couple on that area at those hours is risky. Now, at those hours the park's features has nothing much to offer beside the nice view of the skyline across Lake Union being so close the waterfront. So, my suggestion is to look for other options. Go early when there is people around is one considering that the day turns dark pretty early enough to grasp the skyline on its nightly shine as early as 6pm and even earlier, giving you both the romantic scenery you are looking for and even wait a bit when everybody start to leave to grasp a moment only for you both (but be careful though). Be the only ones in the park, sharing that moment with nobody around sounds amazing in paper, and I don't blame you for thinking about, but this park sadly doesn't serve the purpose with safety on the mind unless you are policeman/policewoman in uniform ending their shift with this idea as a great closer!!!...
