My husband and I spent a day here on a cruise ship, and it was one of the most breathtaking things I have ever seen. The mountains/glaciers were spectacular, and we were able to see an orca jump out … Full review by morrigan716

It was an Awesome Trip. It was so peaceful and beautiful. It was well worth it. I don't know how long this place will be there like this, but it is definitely the Last Frontier. You get to see what A… Full review by SaltLife70

If going by cruise ship, can you get Jr ranger badges and cancellation stamps for the national park books?

Hi, my partner and I are booked up for this trip in May this year and was wondering just how cold it is in May. Its so difficult knowing what to pack as we are also flying over to the other side of Canada at the end of our trip where it will be warmish. Any advice on clothing would be much appreciated. Kind Regards Lee

The weather according to what I have seen looks to be about 50-60 degrees F which is about 10-15 C I believe. I would suggest layers because it can change somewhat. Things like fleece jackets, sweaters, windbreakers or light raincoats to wear over them. If you are going on a cruise like we did it was extremely casual. I have been on about 20 cruises and I have never been on such a casual cruise, so I would limit the formal or dress clothes. I guess because of the colder weather people even on the ship dining areas were bundled up in sweatshirts and jeans etc.. I hope that helps, if I can help with anything else let me know. I hope you have a wonderful trip.
Hi Jackie, very detailed information! Thank you. I just want to know where is your 'lodge' locate? And how did you get to your lodge, by ferry from Anchorage? And how long did the ferry take. Thank again, Yuan

Hi, I have read Jackie's review and the lodge that she is referring to is located at the entrance to Glacier Bay, near Gustavus, which is part of the Inside passage of Alaska. The ferry she mentions, would most likely be the Alaska Marine Highway, which travels from Vancouver and is also a car ferry. You would have to check their schedules as I am not sure how often they go to Glacier Bay. You can also fly to Gustavus. If you are a guest of the lodge, then they organise boat tours of the bay as well as other activities. Just visit their website - Glacier Bay Lodge & Tours Alaska and you will find all the information you need.
