The Louisville Zoological Gardens, a non-profit organization and state zoo of Kentucky, is dedicated to its mission to “Better the Bond Between People and Our Planet” by providing excellent care for animals, a great experience for visitors, and leadership in conservation education. The Zoo’s collections which include botanical gardens are accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA). The Louisville Zoo is also an agency of Louisville Metro Government.

How long should I plan to spend at the zoo? I am going with my wife and 13 year old.

I'd say go before tons of people come like around 8 or 9 and leave at 3 or 4 it's a nice experience and gives you time to eat the good food and look at all the animals and maybe enjoy …
I'd say go before tons of people come like around 8 or 9 and leave at 3 or 4 it's a nice experience and gives you time to eat the good food and look at all the animals and maybe enjoy the water park a little bit.
How long does it take the average person without children to walk around and see everything?
A:
I'd say 90-120 minutes depending on how much time you spend viewing the animals. It's got a couple of hills within the park that provide a nice workout while walking.
Where would you recommend to spend the night when bringing a toddler to the zoo for a day and an overnighter? Somewhere easy access and with a kid friendly pool. Any suggestions?

There are several nice hotels to choose from. I personally prefer the east end hotels. You may have to drive a little further but I think you will enjoy your stay. I would not choose a …
There are several nice hotels to choose from. I personally prefer the east end hotels. You may have to drive a little further but I think you will enjoy your stay. I would not choose a downtown hotel. They are older and most do not have a pool.
