Those of you who have had a less than ideal trip on the Pride of Africa, can you advise if you were offered any compensation, especially if your train journey was replaced by a bus. Thank you.

Our tour operator gave us about 10% back of the total cost of our 2 week journey, 4 nights being with Rovos Rail. I do not know if the compensation came from Rovos Rail or from our tour operator. I know that Rovos said they would pay for the bus back to Victoria Falls (the one that broke down and they had to get another), and our hotel room in Victoria Falls--the least they could do. No individuals should be booking this train and neither should tour operators. I just received a brochure that advertises a trip next year with 3 nights on Rovos Rail!
