Saw Othello. Very awesome experience, even if the seating was a bit cramped. I had an Obstructed View seat (Upper Gallery A11) but could see perfectly fine. Sometimes had to tilt my head but it wor… Full review by Charlotte S

Saw Othello and thoroughly enjoyed it. The casting and acting was superb. The production was not 'woke' thankfully with no gender swaping, LGBTQ, climate agenda rammed down our throats (which has aff… Full review by jayjayjay3

The most uncomfortable seating I have ever experienced at a theatre. Wooden benches with no back support. The theatre is lit by candlelight which is atmospheric but hopeless for people with poor eyes… Full review by Neon8
We are planning to see taming of the shrew in March. Am I correct in that this is an indoor theater? I’ve seen some comments that the theater is freezing. So—inside but kept cold or outside temperatures cold?

We're going to the Wanamaker in April. We have seats but i think this means we have bench seating--no backs. It said something somewhere about getting cushions. does one need those? Can you in fact get those? Any other tips about being comfortable? We are in the lower level. Thanks.

The bench is fine. There are cushions but not thick. The majesty of seeing the play by candlelight will snuff out any minor discomfort of the seating. In fact the seating is essential to …

Are the seats with obstructed views worth buying? How badly is the viewing with columns etc obstructing? Thank you!

Apart from the Pit, all seats have a slightly restricted view - there are columns (about 20 cm. in breadth) supporting the floor above or the ceiling. With a slight head movement to left or right, you should be able to see 90% of the action at any time. In any case, 90% of the action at the Wanamaker is worth more than 100% in most West End theatres. Go and enjoy!
Hi, Is Vivaldi's Four Seasons Reimagined geared towards young chidren since it's a puppet theatre? I am bringing teenagers who would of course prefer to be around adults rather than small kids. Thank you.

I think the short answer is that you should expect, because the price for tickets is low and the production involves puppets, that it will attract families with children. The good news is that the Sam Wanamaker theatre is tiny....therefore depending on how many seats you need, you can isolate yourselves a bit. The other smart thing to consider is the day you see the show. Avoiding a weekend, especially if it's a Bank Holiday...where school will be suspended.....would limit your chances that the audience will be filled with young children. Either way though, it's such a small venue, it should not be too much of a bother.
Can't seem to find what is being produced in May? Want to buy tickets for 1st week, but don't know how!
