It all started back in the 1940’s when Peter Kiewit launched Tongue River Stone Company to produce railroad ballast for passenger trains as well as heavy manifest trains that traveled across the country. It’s unique variety of colors caught the attention of landscapers throughout the Midwest, and in 1986, Western Sunset decorative rock was born. This year celebrates 31 years of being a family run company. Blaine Phillips continues to prioritize customer service and producing a quality material.
