One of the most fun drive, but be aware it is very high so oxygen will be in short supply. The sad thing is you cannot see everything when driving, let your family enjoy the beauty please. Full review by ScarboroughADyork

How much more beautiful can the Rocky Mountains be? We had taken this trip as kids and remember it being a bit breathtakingly scary. We took this trip 50 years later and it was breathtaking in a glo… Full review by MustRetireSoon

Hi all! Planning a roadtrip for September 2024. Is this drive doable in a 30ft RV? Also, with the current road trip plan we will be there on National Public Lands day (Sept 28th). Will this be a very busy day? Thanks in advance!

In my opinion yes. It is a two lane road...some tight turns, but i think doable
Hello, We plan on doing the trail ridge road on the 5th and have the ticket for between 9-11am entry. We are staying in Estes Park. This is the only activity we have planned for the day and will be visiting with 3 year and 6 year old. I had initially only planned to drive up to the Alpine visitor center and turn back but wanted to check if the recommended is to drive all the way to grand lake? Do you take HW 34 or take HW 36 to HW34? If we do the entire drive and also make stops at the scenic lookovers, how much time should be plan for? I see Alpine Ridge trail is a nice easy hike, are there any other short hikes along the way that are recommended? Also, we plan on stopping at the popular overlooks; Forest Canyon, Rainbow Curve, Many Parks Curve etc, Are there stops along the way with waterfalls etc that we can stop along the way? appreciate your feedback in advance. Thnx!

I would recommend driving all the way Grand Lake. There's great views of the Never Summer Mountains, and the Kawuneeche Valley is pretty as well. We actually entered from Grand Lake and went the opposite direction of most people. You could either turn around and back track to Estes Park or continue on through Granby and Winter Park and maybe make a stop at Idaho Springs on your way back since there's a good chance the kids pass out in the back seat after you leave the park.
