This is a good hike that is challenging, but the views are so impressive that it’s easy to continue. There isn’t a lot of shade, but there is plenty of wind and sun, many picture spots, and tons of f… Full review by 216celinal

This was by far my favorite hike on the island! It isn't necessarily far by distance; however, the elevation gain is tremendous and the trail precipitous. Boy is it worth it at the top though! The vi… Full review by RockChalkEm

Where can we park without getting fined or towed? Does this beach have rocks at the bottom when entering the water? Or is it just smooth sand?
A:
We parked on a street that is right near beach access. Just pay attention to home owner’s signs and don’t block their drives! Walk from there.

Also, I’m not sure how much you know about the trails in Hawaii, but unless they are a part of the National Park system, or Diamond Head, then they are not maintained. Most hikes do not have paved walkways, handicap or stroller access, and the like. They are rough, natural and all terrain trails. Parking is limited as this hike falls in the residential area. We parked a couple of blocks away on a street close to beach access. Walked to the trailhead. Be sure to research as much as you can about the hikes you would like to do. Best of Oahu, All Trails, and Unreal Hawaii were some of the websites I used when researching the hikes I wanted to do. I also watched YouTube videos. Hope that helps.
Q:
How is the drive there from Waikiki? Is there a ton of traffic in this area? Curvy or straight? Thanks!

Drive there is really good. Parking is the problem. No parking lot and you have to park on the street. Read signs as it is a residential area and parking is limited. It is worth the hike, so be patient in finding a place to park. Almost wind up hiking to the beginning of path as it is to the top. Take water.
