Parking was easy as was the ticket checking and walk to the house. We were booked for 11 to 11.30. It wasn’t too busy with a short queue into the house and a slightly longer one once in for the first… Full review by DewsburyEmily

Good afternoon, it is quite a long walk from the car park, out through the courtyard (where the shop/ ticket collection) is. If you were a bit dodgy on your pins or have trouble with your mobility, you'd probably need a chair or at least some assistance to the house. However, it is a very nice walk. Hope this helps.

If you book to include a house tour, that is the time stated to be at the front of the house ready for the tour yes. Not the time to arrive at the ticket desk in the courtyard. You have free access to the garden centre to browse as well as the farm shop and gift shop within the courtyard. The Courtyard cafe is accessable to all as is the coffee shop at the entrance to the courtyard. The extensive grounds are only accessible through the ticket office and there is something to delight all with enjoyable walks within the walled garden area, around the south lake area, up into Ray wood, to enjoy the views from around the Temple of the Four Winds or go to see if you can find the pigs within the wooded area, or go down to the North Lake area to the Boathouse and its decked area with a view of its Lake or onto the playground area and Skelf Island play area. The Atlas Fountain is well worth a walk up to too.
