Nice place. We were disappointed to find that they have no flush toilets, and no place to wash your hands after using the toilet. A bit too primitive for a National Park. Full review by AppleTrees4me

The views and rock formations at Canyonlands were phenomenal. Short & long hikes. Lots of people biking. The Mesa Arch was my favorite short hike. See pic. Full review by susanwA561QV

I am visiting Canyonlands in a few days. My friend is camping and i will be in a hotel in monticello. I am supposed to pick him up near the visitor center. I do have a fear of heights though. Is the road into the park from monticello flat? Once i pick him up, he will do the driving for the rest of the park.
A:
That's a long haul from Monticello to this side of the park. In answer to your question, yes and no. The road itself is flat but winds up some switchbacks on the approach to the mesa.

We do not like driving the roads with the sheer drop-offs. Are there roads in Canyonlands we should avoid? Thanks!
A:
You should be fine. Avoid the Shaffer Trail road,, but besides that, everyth8ng is perfectly safe and easy...and paved!
