Temperatures rose above freezing areawide Thursday afternoon and will hold steady or even rise further overnight into Friday morning.

Sunday, Dec. 1 marks the start of Chicago’s winter overnight parking ban, which stays in effect through April 1. The parking ban is enforced regardless of snow on the ground from 3 a.m. to 7 a.m.

The ban is in effect through April 1 and prohibits parking from 3-7 a.m. on about 107 miles of major city streets, regardless of snow. Towing fees start at $150.
