A man threw a ‘liquid’ which the Delhi Police said was water, on former Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal during his ‘padyatra’ in South Delhi

After Aam Aadmi Party national convenor was attacked during his 'padyatra' campaign, Delhi minister Saurabh Bharadwaj on Saturday alleged that the man held for attacking Kejriwal wanted to "burn him alive" after throwing spirit on him.

Arvind Kejriwal was greeting people standing behind a cordon when a man approached him and splashed some liquid on him, following which the security personnel swiftly overpowered him.

Security personnel subdued a man who allegedly attempted to attack AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal during a padyatra in Delhi's Greater Kailash area. Further details are awaited, according to the Press Trust of India.

As per the police, the AAP Chief was shaking hands with the public when a person namely Ashok Jha attempted to throw "water" on Arvind Kejriwal, but he was immediately caught as the police staff was nearby along with ropes.

Visuals showed that a man approached the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor when he was acknowledging the crowd and hurled a liquid at him, which was supposedly water, sources said.

In a security scare, a man was detained for allegedly splashing some liquid on AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal during his 'padyatra' in south Delhi's Malviya Nagar on Saturday, police said.
