The Adani Group, however, recently sent a letter to the Bangladesh government over its unpaid USD 800 million power supply bill while Bangladesh’s state-run Power Development Board said they had already paid USD 150 million despite its dollar crisis and was expecting to pay the full amount.

India said its cooperation with Bangladesh in the power and energy sector was one of the crucial pillars of bilateral ties.

Bangladesh interim government is reviewing power deals made by previous government. One deal involves India's Adani Group. A committee recommends hiring investigators to examine these agreements. The committee believes some agreements might need cancellation or renegotiation.
