Just before 8:30 a.m. on Thursday morning, traffic was halted in the southbound lanes of the Monitor Merrimac Memorial Bridge Tunnel, due to a car crash.

According to the Virginia Department of Transportation, the crash happened on the Newport News side of the bridge-tunnel.
