According to the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA), the state’s outdoor recreation economy rose by 13.3% last year, the highest of all U.S. states.

A yearlong celebration has been launched to mark the 50th anniversary of that designation — and once again, the U.S. flag is flying over the only building that is left of the original Armory.
