The ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Saturday won three Assembly by-polls – Gidderbaha, Dera Baba Nanak and Chabbewal – which were earlier held by the Congress, but lost Barnala seat to the grand old party.

CHANDIGARH: The ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in Punjab on Saturday won three of the four Assembly constituencies on which elections were held on November 20, giving a morale boost to Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.

With his party winning 3 of the 4 Assembly seats in Punjab where bypolls were held,senior Aam Aadmi Party leader Raghav Chadha has said the results are a stamp of approval for the Bhagwant Mann government under the leadership of Arvind Kejriwal.

AAP is leading in Dera Baba Nanak, Chabbewal and Gidderbaha while Congress is leading only on one seat in Barnala. The BJP is at third position in all four seats. Notably, Congress won in Dera Baba Nanak, Chabbewal and Gidderbaha in the 2022 Punjab elections and AAP won in Barnala.

AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday termed his party's win in three out of four seats in the Punjab bypolls a "semi-final", asserting that the party is on course for another historic mandate in Delhi.

The vote counting for the by-polls to four assembly seats in Punjab has been completed. According to the results, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has bagged Dera Baba Nanak, Chhabbewal, and Gidderbaha Assembly seats with a significant margin and highest-ever vote share.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) secured victories in three out of four assembly by-elections in Punjab, strengthening its hold in the state. The Congress managed to win one seat, while the BJP failed to secure any.

While Congress could only win Barnala, the AAP won Dera Baba Nanak, Chabbewal and Gidderbaha seats in the Punjab bypolls.
