Oct 21, 2020 · the rhythms that the AED look at (v-tach and V-fib) look the same, either way the pads are placed. The pads read from one to the other (talk to each other) to identify the heart rhythm. if the pads are swapped in location the AED will still recognize the rhythm.

Sep 9, 2012 · My understanding is for defib it depends on the pads you select. The stat-padz/CPR padz are intended for traditional Ant/Lat placement (they call it Sternal/Apex placement). Their recommendation for cardioversion of atrial arrhythmias is Ant/Post with the Apex/anterior pad to the right of the sternum.

Jan 30, 2015 · Apperatly I did this? I'm in the basic emt lab class and we were testing out of cardiac arrest with AED. I'm doing cpr on the dummy, get the AED out turn it on, put it on the dummy and continue.. Then the lab aid says "look at your pads." I had them in the correct spots, I didn't know what the problem was.

And will possibly purchase an AED trainer at the same time (would be nice to have an AED Manikin but the additional cost is quite high to not have to add a training strip to the manikin for pad placement.
