Bluegill die off - Ohio Game Fishing
Jun 9, 2022 · I am wondering if anyone else has recently experienced a large fish kill affecting mainly hand-sized bluegills. I am a member of an organization that owns and manages a 5+ acre pond for family fishing enjoyment in northeast Ohio, (Wayne County). Last weekend there was a die off of several hundred fish, mainly larger bluegill.

Jul 28, 2008 · The fish MUST be farmed by a propagator located IN Ohio and the fish must be inspected and certified disease-free by the US Dept. of Agriculture. I have no idea why the D of A instead of the DNR is involved. Anyway, that's the story behind bluegill sales in Ohio. I read this about two years ago in the London newspaper.

Jul 18, 2008 · Buckeye lake would get my vote,shallow waters.Fish with wax worms under a float around the marsh area in close,around docks,crane lake(the little lake) or around the islands.Hold onto your rods good though as channel cats are always quick to gobble up a wax worm too.

May 24, 2004 · The biggest bluegill in Ohio are certainly over at the AEP ponds about three hours from Cincy. It does not patter which pond you fish, just fish! I caught about twenty last week that were all over fish ohio limits! I caught over 50 per day, the average being about 8 inches. I have posted a photo of the largest of the week: 10 inches and one lb.

Apr 28, 2010 · Oh man I use to get lot fish out Pymatuning in fall with these that was back then was called parasite.only in fall after waters so and so warm and in most cases the green slime sets in.that covers that lake back then the slime was so think frogs can walk on it.one reason I do not fish that lake.not sure how it is today as never been there in 20 ...

Jan 4, 2005 · Mogadore has got some big bull bluegills and redear. I never once targeted those fish there but I caught 3 Fish Ohio bluegill from Mogadore over the past 2 years while bass fishing. All three came on white Senkos. I've actually had trouble keeping the things off of a white Senko in that lake, they don't seem to like any other color though Steve
