Jun 14, 2018 · 2. It actually uses 8 screws, it alternates between top and bottom holes on the bracket. If you have wood studs a better option would be to screw it into the wood studs, the studs would be spaced about every 16" on your wall. Might require drilling through the bracket.

Jun 2, 2020 · Cut the width (i.e., rip a strip off of a larger piece) to just under the height of the back of the shelves. Screw it in into the studs and then screw the shelves into the plywood. The plywood will bend a little (and/or you can shim it out as needed) to fit the wall so that the shelves will not have a big difference between them like they do now.

Until recently there were Antonius shelves 14 3/8 inches deep, but now they've disappeared, leaving only 11 inches deep shelves. Otherwise, there are any number of kits available to order online or pick up at a local hardware store. I prefer the kind that use a flat nylon strap. Then you don't have to align everything perfect between wall and shelf.

It was a real issue while we were working. The building was built in the 60s and the wall I'm using appears to be entirely plaster with no studs, no lath, nothing (as far as I can tell).

I did so with my Father, when building wardrobes to facilitate non-perpendicular walls.
