Sep 3, 2018 · The Standard Format only permits cards from the most recent Pokémon Trading Card Game sets, however these sets sometimes contain reprinted cards from older sets, making those older cards also legal in the Standard Format. A deck must also contain 60 cards, have at least one Pokemon in it, and cannot have more than 4 cards of any single name.

Watching YouTube, there are plenty of adult gamers playing very serious games of what has always been advertised as a children's card collecting hobby. Although the adults do not seem to be the majority, they are also not exceptions to the rule, either.

Physical copies of the rulebook used to be included in theme decks, but lately are only available in special products like Ultra-Premium Collection boxes. The version on Pokemon.com is always accessible and up-to-date, though!
Errata - Pokémon Rulings Compendium
Beginning with the Scarlet & Violet expansion, "Pokemon Tool" will be its own category of Trainer card; Pokemon Tool cards will no longer be printed as Item cards. Pokemon Tool cards from all previous series will receive errata to align with this change, meaning that older Tool cards are no longer considered as "Item cards".

Mar 30, 2023 · Ancient Power does not allow you to use a Pokemon's attack or play a Trainer card to evolve your Benched or Active Pokemon, unless the Evolution card you would be putting into play comes from somewhere other than your hand. So Rare Candy cannot be used while Archeops' Ancient Power Ability is in effect.
