Mar 27, 2021 · Since day 1, the oil used in the engine was Castrol Edge Professional III 5W-30 VW 507 00, as VW recommends Castrol. The first oil change took place on 18.000 Km's, with no oil consumption noticed and the oil used was the above mentioned Castrol again.

May 28, 2011 · The Mobil oil takes 1st place because the MB 229.52 spec gives it the best fuel economy. Those oils tied for 2nd place have the MB 229.51 spec, which produces less fuel economy. The two oils in 7th place have only the VW 504/507 approval.

Jan 14, 2023 · Hello, I recently did an oil change on my 2021 3.6L Atlas, and I wanted to do a double-check on if the oil I used is okay. I used the Castrol Edge Euro, 5W30, but the manual reccomends a 0W30, did I screw up or will the 5W30 work?

Typically other manufacturers will state to use an alternative oil until the next oil change (i.e. use 5w30 if no 5w40 is available, but change back to 5w40 in the next oil change) or something similar.
