Mar 17, 2016 · I use WASD, but I always thought it should have been ESDF so that your hand could retain the home position of a touch typist. Also, with my hand shifted over a position for WASD, my pinkie is pretty much only used for Ctrl or Shift, where if I am typing a letter it is used for QAZ and Tab in addition to Ctrl and Shift.
Is there a correct way to place the fingers on WASD?
Some people definitely use different placements, but middle finger w is in general the most efficient for most gaming. Its not just because its more comfortable, its much easier to access shift/ctrl/alt, which are used in a number of games, as well as a bunch of other surrounding keys very comfortably.
