Jul 16, 2019 · I had a midfoot fusion at the end of december. I was worried because my husband had a business trip scheduled a few weeks after my surgery for a week and I live in a 2 story house. Luckily i was able to do just fine!! I found creative ways to get around and be independant without my husband there.
After surgery for big toe fusion - Patient
Had my cast removed on week 4 after an xray and went into a walking shoe. Have not used crutches since and am gradually getting faster at walking. Starting driving a car with clutch again with some discomfort to feels great to get out and about again. My toe is pointing up and swells a little when down but soon returns to normal after ice and rest.

May 5, 2014 · hi jacqueline, i am 4 and half months since big toe fusion op, after 10 weeks i was given an aircast boot to protect my foot while getting used to walking again, that was nearly 2 weeks ago, while i was using it i injured the plantar facia under my operated right foot then it happened too my left foot as i was overusing it to get around.

Aug 8, 2016 · I have been in an ankle brace for the last 3 weeks and hope to be brace free by Tues. At every stage after the cast came off there was pain walking for the first week or so, so I used crutches. It does become less painful as you continue to walk, but I would recommend you not overdo. As my Dr said, this surgery is a big deal!
